The purpose of the Old Edgefield District Genealogical Society (OEDGS) is to promote genealogical and historical research in Old Edgefield District.
OEDGS is the largest genealogical society in the state of South Carolina with over 400 members across 40 states, and in England. OEDGS is partnered with Edgefield County Government and the library is housed in the Johnston Genealogical Research Center.
The Johnston Genealogical Research Center is open Mon - Fri, 9:00am - 4:00pm,
located at 405 Calhoun St. Johnston, SC 29832.
